People often ask how long a refund takes. The honest answer is that it depends on several stages, and only some of them are in Temu’s hands.
The stages of a refund
- Request. You submit a return or refund request on the order page.
- Review. The request is reviewed, and for returns the item may need to be sent back or scanned first.
- Approval. The refund is issued and the order page shows the amount and the destination.
- Arrival. The money reaches your card, wallet or account.
Why timing varies
The last stage depends on how you paid. Credit or store balance usually appears quicker. Card payments can take several additional business days because your bank has to post the refund. Weekends and public holidays add time.
How to check where you are
- Open the order and read the refund details. Note the expected date and the destination.
- If the status says the refund was issued, look at your bank’s pending items.
- If the expected date has passed, contact Temu from the order page and quote the refund details.
What to keep
Screenshots of the refund status and, for returns, your drop-off receipt or tracking number. These speed up any follow-up.
